In 1950, husband-and-wife team Bill and Billie Parrish created Hot Dog Bills and named their business after themselves (the two Bills). Pioneers in the mobile food industry, they moved their mobile food trailer to the grass surrounding Lake Merced in order to serve the local golfers, fishermen, and joggers. Their hot dog–shaped burger was so delicious and easy to handle that it has been a beloved staple at San Francisco’s Olympic Club golf course ever since. Hot Dog Bills is currently run by second-generation owner Candy Parrish (daughter of Bill and his wife Billie) and her husband, Jack. Their sons Max and Grahm are also part of the business and will be third-generation owners. Some of their most famous fans include Justin Timberlake, Bill Clinton, Rick Barry, Steve Young and Jerry Rice!
