The Golden State Warriors today announced two upcoming events at Thrive City: The Rock and Roll Playhouse presents the music of The Beatles for Kids and more on Saturday, October 2, and San Francisco’s African-American Shakespeare Company presents The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) on Sunday, October 3. Both events are free and open to the public.
On Saturday, October 2, from 12 – 1 p.m., The Rock and Roll Playhouse will perform the music of The Beatles and more in a free, interactive concert. The event is part of a national concert series for families that uses music to educate children and explore their creativity.
San Francisco’s African-American Shakespeare Company will present The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) on Sunday, October 3, beginning at 11:30 a.m. The production, which is directed by Reed Martin, is a fast, funny and physical take on the Bard that will feature three actors performing 75 characters from 37 plays in just over an hour. The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) marks the first in-person performances for the African-American Shakespeare Company since the pandemic.
Sunday’s Shakespeare performance will coincide with the weekly Thrive City Farmers Market, presented by Kaiser Permanente, which is open from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The farmers market will feature farm fresh produce, local pre-packaged foods and artisan vendors as well as health and wellness sessions with D’sign, including Zumba Toning from 9 – 9:45 a.m. and Zumba from 10 – 10:45 a.m.
