Warriors Opening Night: What To Look Forward To
The first regular season game of the season always generates excitement, and with the Warriors being reigning NBA Champions, this season’s home opener carries even more significance. It’s the Championship celebration, it’s the opponent, it’s the fact that starting Tuesday, the game’s results actually matter!
With all of that said, here are some of the top things to look forward to for Tuesday’s Champions Ring Night, presented by Chase Freedom.
Champions Ring Night, presented by Chase Freedom
Warriors vs. Lakers
Tuesday, October 18
Pregame Ceremony: 6:30 p.m.
Tipoff: 7 p.m.
TV: TNT | Radio: 95.7 The Game, Warriors Mobile App
THE TITLE DEFENSE STARTS NOW
With four NBA Championships in the last eight seasons, there is no doubt that this current era of Golden State Warriors basketball is on the short list of best extended run by any team in NBA league history. And with a roster headlined by future Hall of Famers and up-and-coming stars, all under the direction of a head coach associated with nine NBA titles (as a player and coach combined), the Warriors enter this season with high expectations. What better way to open the season with a matchup against the Lakers, a division rival with a decorated history of their own that currently features a player against whom the Warriors won their three prior Championships against!
CHAMPIONSHIP CELEBRATION
And speaking of Championships, the Warriors will celebrate their 2022 title with a special pregame ceremony during which the Warriors will receive their 2022 NBA Championship rings and unveil their Championship banner – their first in the young Chase Center era. All fans attending the game are encouraged to ARRIVE EARLY and be in their seats by 6:30 p.m. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, along with Warriors co-executive chairmen Joe Lacob and Peter Guber, will be presenting last season’s players with diamond-clad rings crafted by Jason of Beverly Hills. Among the players who will receive his Championship ring on Tuesday … former Warrior and current Laker, as well as Oakland native, Juan Toscano-Anderson.
A CHAMPIONSHIP RING AR EXPERIENCE
Rings aren’t just for the players and coaches! Dub Nation will have the opportunity to take part in the Championship Ring Experience, an augmented reality (AR) experience that will allow fans to virtually wear the team’s Championship rings and capture photo to share on social media. This interactive experience will have two in-person locations – one at Thrive City and one inside the Chase Lounge – and will also be accessible to fans around the world through the Warriors + CC Mobile App.
FAN FEST BEGINS AT 4:30 P.M.
As mentioned before, fans are encouraged to get to Chase Center early! And those who heeding that advice will have plenty of time to enjoy a Fan Fest taking place at Thrive City, the plaza surrounding Chase Center. Live musical performances, games, photo ops, a special kids zone and the AR feature mentioned in the preceding paragraph will all be part of the pregame scene outside of Chase Center. The Fan Fest is open to all fans, and those without tickets to the game are invited to watch the pregame ceremony and the game itself on Thrive City’s 3,108 square-foot video board in the West Plaza, the largest outdoor video board in San Francisco.
And if you’re already checking out Fan Fest, be sure to stop by the new Cupcakin’ Bake Shop. The popular cupcake shop opens its Thrive City location – adjacent to Warriors Shop – on Tuesday, and will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Learn more at cupcakinbakeshop.com.
