Earlier today, the Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC) announced it will host an official FIFA World Cup 26™ Final Draw Watch Party at Thrive City on Friday, December 5 at 9 a.m. Guests can RSVP for the event at ThriveCity.com.
Guests at the Watch Party will enjoy premium viewing on Thrive City’s giant plaza video board, FIFA World Cup 26™ Bay Area giveaways, and the electric atmosphere of a community coming together to celebrate the world’s game. The first 150 fans to arrive will receive a complimentary FIFA World Cup 26™ SF Bay Area bucket hat, and the event will include appearances by Bay Area soccer legends.
“The Draw is one of the most anticipated moments on the World Cup calendar, and we’re excited to bring Bay Area fans together to learn with us in real time the group stage assignments for the biggest sporting event in history,” said BAHC President & CEO Zaileen Janmohamed. “With soccer legends, giveaways, prizes, food and a festive atmosphere that will be uniquely Bay Area, we hope all the local fans of the world’s game make their way to Thrive City to celebrate this milestone with us.”
The FIFA World Cup 26™ Draw will take place at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. and will commence at 9:00 am Pacific Time. It will be beamed to the three host countries and around the globe by FIFA’s Media Partners. The teams representing the host countries will be assigned to positions A1 (Mexico), B1 (Canada) and D1 (USA), as per the match schedule released last year.
For fans across the Bay Area interested in joining local watch parties, you can also watch the Draw at PayPal Park in San Jose and at The Athletic Club in Oakland. More details on those events will be announced by local organizers in the coming days.
