
Thrive City Announces 2026 Winter Programming
Thrive City has announced its 2026 Winter programming, featuring the annual Black History Month Celebration and Lunar New Year Celebration. Thrive City, in collaboration with Kaiser Permanente, has hosted nearly 500 events centered around health and wellness, arts and culture, sports and entertainment, and civic engagement since opening in 2019. Thrive City’s Winter events include:
- Black History Month Celebration – Thrive City will host its annual Black History Month Celebration on Sunday, February 1, from 12 to 3 p.m. Guests are invited to celebrate and honor Black culture through arts and crafts, culinary treats from Black-owned business Jamerikan Jerk, and live entertainment from Queen Iminah featuring AAFE Queens Rising, The Prospect Band, and headlining performer Veotis Latchinson.
- Lunar New Year Celebration – Thrive City will ring in the Year of the Horse with a Lunar New Year Celebration on Saturday, February 21, from 12 to 3 p.m. Attendees are invited to set the tone for a year of luck and prosperity and enjoy delicious culinary delights, family-friendly arts and crafts, special cultural performances from Lion Dance Me, Nguyen Dance Company, Korean Culture Center Urisawe, and more. The event will also feature a Golden State Warriors and Valkyries-themed Horse statue for photo opportunities. The statue is a part of the Year of the Horse on Parade program during San Francisco’s annual Chinese New Year Festival & Parade. Additionally, Thrive City’s Senor Sisig will host a special popup that will serve dishes combining Shanghainese and Filipino-Mexican flavors during the Warriors’ Lunar New Year game on January 20.
