A tennis tournament unlike any other, San Francisco will host the eighth edition of the Laver Cup at Chase Center from September 19-21, 2025.

The Laver Cup pits six of the best men’s tennis players from Europe against six of their counterparts from the rest of the world over three days of intense team competition. The teams are led by legendary captains, Yannick Noah for Team Europe and Andre Agassi for Team World.

The Laver Cup has superstar players as you have never seen them before…where rivals become teammates, competing in singles, teaming up in first-time doubles combinations, and cheering each other on from the sidelines. The fast-paced scoring format and innovative presentation makes every match count and keeps fans on the edge of their seat until the final day.

American Tommy Paul is set to represent Team World for the third time at the eighth edition of the Laver Cup.

The 27-year-old made an impressive start to the season, reaching his third Grand Slam quarterfinal at the Australian Open in January and breaking into the ATP Top 10 for the first time, achieving a career-high ranking of World No. 9.

Currently ranked World No. 13, Paul will team up with fellow top Americans Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton, under the guidance of Team World Captain Andre Agassi as the team looks to secure their third Laver Cup victory in front of a home crowd.

Team World claimed their first Laver Cup title in London in 2022 and followed up with a triumphant victory in Vancouver the following year, with Paul a part of the team on both occasions. Team Europe currently lead the head-to-head record 5-2.

Team Europe, led by Yannick Noah has already announced two of their six-player roster for San Francisco, with World No. 2 Alexander Zverev and World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz confirmed.

Played on a dramatic black court, the three-day Laver Cup competition pits six of the best men’s tennis players from Europe against six of their counterparts from the rest of the World. Each player competes in at least one singles match during the first two days, and no more than two during the three-day competition. At least four of the six players must play doubles. Each match win is worth one point on Friday, two points on Saturday, and three points on Sunday, with the first team to reach 13 points winning the Laver Cup.

The three highest ranked players from each region, Europe and the World, based on their ATP singles ranking as of the Monday following Roland-Garros, receive an automatic invitation to play the Laver Cup. If one of these players chooses not to participate, the offer is made to another high ranked player. The remaining three places on each team will be ‘Captain’s Picks’ and can be announced any time before the start of the US Open. By naming Paul to his team right now, Agassi is committing to use a Captain’s Pick on him if he does not qualify based on ranking.
