Thrive City Announces 2024 Free Spring Community Programming

Thrive City has announced its 2024 spring programming schedule, which will feature approximately 80 events for the entire family spanning March through June, including an Easter Egg Hunt, Spring Golf Day, a Mother’s Day event, fitness classes, live performances, and more. Thrive City, in collaboration with Kaiser Permanente, has hosted over 170 events since July 2023, all of which are free to the public and centered around health and wellness, arts and culture, sports and entertainment, and civic engagement. Upcoming Thrive City events include:

  • Sana G Easter Egg Hunt Presented by Kaiser Permanente — On Saturday, March 30, Kaiser Permanente, Thrive City, 106.1KMEL and Sana G will host an Easter celebration with egg hunts, live entertainment from Old Skool Cafe, arts and crafts, Easter Bunny photo opportunities, bunny petting zoo, and more. The family-friendly event will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Live Music Lunch Series — Thrive City’s Live Music Series is back, with special performances Tuesdays from 12-1:30 p.m. starting April 2 to June 11. Grab a bite to eat at one of Thrive City’s restaurants and enjoy live music from local Bay Area musicians.
  • Harmonic Trivia Nights — Thrive City’s Harmonic Brewing will continue hosting Trivia Nights on select Tuesdays from 6 -8 p.m., starting April 9 to June 11.
  • Weekly Fitness Classes Presented by Kaiser Permanente — Thrive City and Kaiser Permanente will host free weekly fitness classes at Thrive City every Wednesday from 12-1 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Yoga, Pilates, HIIT Bodyweight, and Bollywood Dance will be offered starting April 3 to June 12.
  • Little Bears Music Class — Little Bears returns to Thrive City with its music classes for babies, toddlers and preschoolers on Friday mornings from 10-11 a.m. Classes start on April 5 and end on June 14.
  • First Fridays at Thrive City — On the first Friday of April, May and June, music-lovers can enjoy themed celebrations of live music and special promotions from Thrive City retailers. Complete your First Fridays passport by getting stamps from retailers and win additional prizes on April 5, May 3 and June 7.
  • Men’s College Basketball Viewings —Thrive City will host free community viewings for the Men’s College Basketball Semifinals and Championship game on the largest outdoor video board in San Francisco on Saturday, April 6 and Monday, April 8. Times may vary based on game schedule.
  • Spring Golf Day Presented by Kaiser Permanente — On Thursday, April 11, from 12-4 p.m., Thrive City and Kaiser Permanente will host a Spring Golf Day featuring a Dryvebox Mobile Golf Simulator Unit, a 9-hole mini-golf course, a golf instructor, and a showing of national golf tournaments on the largest outdoor video board in San Francisco in Thrive City.
  • Veterans Wellness Fair — Thrive City will host a Veterans Wellness Fair presented by Rocket Lawyer on Saturday, April 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the community. Activations include Paws for Purple Hearts, career and health resources for veterans, a yoga class, and more.
  • Storefront Market Earth Day Celebration — Thrive City and Fantastic Negrito, the founder of Storefront Records, will bring open-air market, The Storefront Market, to Thrive City for an Earth Day Celebration on Sunday, April 21 from 12-4 p.m. Shop from local Bay Area vendors, enjoy local cuisines, watch live performances, and more.
  • Harmonic Brushes and Brews — Starting May 1, Harmonic Brewing at Thrive City will host Brushes & Brews, a step-by-step painting class with an instructor from Paint the Town. Paid classes will be held every Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. until May 29.
  • Mother’s Day Blankets & Blockbusters — Thrive City will be hosting a special Blankets & Blockbusters in honor of Mother’s Day weekend on Saturday, May 11 with craft stations, massage chairs, a kids zone, and a screening of “The Parent Trap” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • The Rock and Roll Playhouse — On Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., The Rock and Roll Playhouse, the largest national kid-friendly live concert series, will make a stop at Thrive City to bring the music of the Talking Heads for an afternoon of games, movement, stories, and an opportunity to rock out. Doors open at 10:30 a.m.
  • Blue Bear Teen Music Showcase — On Sunday, May 19, Blue Bear’s All Star Band Program will showcase their students and their music with the community from 1-5 p.m. Sit and relax, play some lawn games, and enjoy live music from talented students.
